KCT Difference
Community Owned and Focused
Being member-owned, we focus on providing our members and communities with financial resources on a variety of topics. Our Member Service Representatives educate and ensure members understand their financial goals.
Benefits that Give Back to Members
Lower interest rates on loans and higher yields on savings products are a few of the direct ways we give back to our Members. We also gave $50,000 to our members who qualified for Premier Membership for 2022.
Revenue Sharing/ Not-for-Profit
We are a credit union, which means we are not-for-profit. We don’t serve shareholders on Wall Street. Instead we serve you, our member-owners. During the 12-month period ending March 2024, KCT Credit Union has provided its member households over $12,562,536 in direct financial benefits* through lower loan rates, lower/no fees and better yields on deposits. Personalized Solutions
Our Member Service Representatives work with you to understand your financial situation and help you to determine the steps to reach your financial goals.
KCT is our Name / Organizational Pride
Chartered in 1937, Kane County Teachers Credit Union was formed through the tireless efforts of Miss Martha Black, a teacher in the then Elgin Public School District, and Mr. E. Earl McCoy, then Kane County Superintendent of Schools. Since that day, we have been dedicated to living the credit union philosophy of people helping people. Originally, KCT was chartered to serve teachers of Kane County. Throughout the years, KCT has broadened our membership field to offer financial literacy resources and services to our surrounding counties. KCT Credit Union is your local community credit union and we strive for excellence in serving our members.
Helping People Live Better Lives Financially
KCT also believes in the principle of serving our member-owners with financial literacy and education. We know that your financial health is just as important as your physical health. This is why we are advocates for our member-owners in times of economic turmoil, and why we have the ability to create individualized loan and savings products to meet your needs.
